Position Summary:

Manage multiple procurement sourcing strategies and priorities for the Strategic Procurement department in accordance with Airbus Group Worldwide Strategy. Responsible for international alignment with other Airbus Helicopters Group Companies. Manage Supplier risk mitigation for Purchasing department. Contract management. US local sourcing Development.

Primary Responsibilities:

1. Manage Strategic Procurement team priorities in accordance with Company objectives 35%

  • Manage the Strategic Procurement priorities with the Strategic Buyers and Manager Strategic Procurement under the validation of the Director Strategic procurement
  • Interface with the internal customers within Airbus Helicopter Group organization to coordinate the Procurement community towards internal stake-holder's requirements and expectations.
  • Manage structure, prepare, and communicate generic or specific requirements of internal customers such as Program Directorate (military and commercialized), customer offers, Support and Services, before flowing down to all the strategic procurement stakeholders.
  • Define a consistent Procurement Strategy which meets specific objectives with regards to internal customer deliverables and customer satisfaction.
  • Define, monitor, validate and correct the products, services and in-service support related actions to be performed by the strategic procurement community.
  • Define the level of procurement data necessary and their corresponding actions to implement in order to respond as per internal customers' expectations.

2. Contract negotiation/ Develop US Sourcing: 20%

  • Develop US local sourcing in accordance with Airbus Helicopters group policies.
  • Key account buyer for major equipment and key suppliers
  • Ensure compliance to the procurement processes all along the program life cycle.

3. Mentor and Training of the Strategic Procurement team: 25%

  • Mentor, advise, train the Strategic Buyers to deliver the best practice of Strategic Procurement
  • Assist Strategic Buyer in difficult contract/ price negotiation with high dollar volume
  • Be a Level of escalation when needed during contract negotiation

4. Internal Customer Satisfaction: 20%

  • Be the focal point for internal customer / Stakeholders request for commercial program
  • Flow down internal customer requirement to the dedicated strategic Buyer
  • Coordinate the strategic procurement actions with internal customers to communicate on specific requests.
  • Promote the Strategic Procurement team towards the organization in order to be included early in the process

Qualified Experience / Skills / Training:

Education:

  • Required: Bachelor's Degree in a related field (experience may be substituted for degree)
  • Preferred: None

Experience:

  • Required:
    • Requires a minimum of ten (10) years directly related experience within a purchasing/procurement environment, engineering, project management or equivalent and aeronautical environment.
    • Require minimum 5 years' Experience in Contract negotiation
    • Knowledge of aircraft parts/equipment and components is required
    • SAP experience required - MM-Module preferred.
    • Experience in team Mentoring and Advisor
  • Preferred:

Travel Required: 30% Domestic and International

Citizenship: US Person under ITAR definition (U.S. Citizen, green card holder or person covered under our existing ITAR license)

Decision Making, Complexity:

  • Make recommendations in regards to HC configurations, obsolescence replacements, total cost of ownership, etc.
  • Propose local content strategy to the Parent company in regards to the different market sections (FMF, FMS)
  • Interface with the Internal Customer (Program, Customer Support, NHC) to ensure best value product/service.
  • Selection on worldwide suppliers, Business case validation, Make or buy decision, Risk mitigation.

Organizational information: Reports to the Director Strategic Procurement AH North America

Job Dimensions, Contributions to Success:

  • Portfolio management of several million dollars per year; negotiate and finalize purchasing contracts with major aeronautical supplier under the final validation of Director Strategic Procurement AH North America.
  • Provide information to the Purchasing team and supporting them in their negotiations.

Nature of Contacts:

  • Internally: AHI (VP's, Sr. Directors) on a weekly basis, Airbus Helicopter Group (France, Germany, Canada, Mexico). Managers, Directors on a daily basis
  • Externally: Supplier leadership management, repair centers and Customers, on a daily basis

Physical Requirements:

  • Onsite: 70%
  • Vision: able to see and read computer screen and other electronic equipment with screens, able to read documents, reports and engineering drawings. Daily
  • Hearing: able to hear to participate in conversations in person and via teleconference or phone and to hear sounds on production floor including safety warnings or alarms. Daily
  • Speaking: able to speak in conversations and meetings, deliver information and participate in communications. Daily
  • Equipment Operation (personal computer, telephone, copies, fax machine, and related office equipment and using electronic identification card to enter building floors and internal doors): able to operate most office and personal electronic equipment and some tools including production tools such as hydraulic lifts. Daily
  • Carrying: able to carry documents, tools, drawings, electronic equipment up to 30lbs/14kgs.
  • Lifting: able to lift documents, tools, drawings, electronic equipment up to 30lbs/14kgs.
  • Pushing / Pulling: able to push and pull small office furniture and some equipment and tools
  • Sitting: able to sit for long periods of time in meetings, working on computer.
  • Squatting / Kneeling: able to squat or kneel to retrieve or replace items stored on low shelving.
  • Standing: able to stand for discussions in offices or on production floor.
  • Travel: able to travel independently and at short notice. 10%
  • Walking (include routine walking such as to a shared printer to retrieve documents): able to walk through office and production areas including uneven surfaces. Daily
  • Personal Protective Equipment required: Required PPE includes, but is not limited to, Safety Shoes, Safety Glasses, Hearing Protection, Respirators/Masks, and/or Protective Gloves as required by site and/or customer site
