Position Summary:

Performs assigned work in support of the Dynamic Component Shop.

Primary Responsibilities:

  1. Description: 75%
  • Provides Technical Expertise and Advise in Support of DCR.
  1. Provides Direct input and support of the Repair More/Scrap Less program within DCR 10%
  • Assesses items for repair or scrap
  • Prepares reports to status of reparable or scrapped parts
  • Suggests and Requests repair actions from appropriate design office
  1. Uses Maintenance Manuals 10%
  • Refers to Manuals (electronic/paper) to determine rework limitations
  • Refers to Manuals (electronic/paper) proper inspection methods
  • Refers to Manuals (electronic/paper) to determine how to assemble /dis-assemble components
  1. Uses computers/tablets to make record entries 5%
  • Documents labor hours against service orders
  • Documents defects noted during dis-assembly, cleaning, and re-work activities
  • Documents labor efforts for payroll requirements

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualified Experience / Skills / Training:



  • Some trade school, or An FAA Airframe, Airframe and Power plant certificate or equivalent is desirable. Bi-lingual French or German is desirable.
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent



  • Minimum six (6) years of related experience. Must have the ability to provide basic leadership to lower level technicians


  • Minimum two (2) years aviation experience

Preferred: FAA Airframe Certificate or equivalent

Knowledge, Skills, Demonstrated Capabilities:

Required: Read, Write, and Understand the English language

Preferred: Bi-lingual French or German is desirable.

Communication Skills (Spoken, Written, Influencing, Proficiency in Other Languages):

  • Read, Write, and Understand the English Language Bi-lingual French or German is desirable

Technical Systems Proficiency:

  • Competent in Microsoft Office Systems such as Excel, Word, etc.

Travel Required:

  • Less than 10% Domestic and International


  • Authorized to Work in the US

  • Assesses items for repair or scrap
  • Prepares reports to status of reparable or scrapped parts
  • Suggests and Requests repair actions from appropriate design office through the use of Webtek or other programs.

Job Dimensions, Contributions to Success:

  • This position requires technicians to read and understand technical data in relation to the gearbox they are performing maintenance on. They must be able to ask questions of their lead technician or assigned trainer is they do not understand the technical data or assigned task before taking action that could cause damage to equipment or injure themselves or others.

  • Involved Communication on a frequent Basis with internal and external parties

Physical Requirements:

  • Onsite: 90%
  • Vision: able to see and read computer screen and other electronic equipment with screens, able to read documents, reports and engineering drawings
  • Hearing: able to hear to participate in conversations in person and via teleconference or phone and to hear sounds on production floor including safety warnings or alarms.
  • Speaking: able to speak in conversations and meetings, deliver information and participate in communications.
  • Equipment Operation (personal computer, telephone, copies, fax machine, and related office equipment and using electronic identification card to enter building floors and internal doors): able to operate most office and personal electronic equipment and some tools including production tools such as hydraulic lifts
  • Carrying: able to carry documents, tools, drawings, electronic equipment up to 30lbs/14kgs
  • Lifting: able to lift documents, tools, drawings, electronic equipment up to 30lbs/14kgs.
  • Pushing / Pulling: able to push and pull small office furniture and some equipment and tools.
  • Sitting: able to sit for long periods of time in meetings, working on computer.
  • Squatting / Kneeling: able to squat or kneel to retrieve or replace items stored on low shelving.
  • Standing: able to stand for discussions in offices or on production floor
  • Travel: able to travel independently and at short notice. Possible once or twice a year.
  • Walking (include routine walking such as to a shared printer to retrieve documents): able to walk through office and production areas including uneven surfaces.
  • Personal Protective Equipment required: Required PPE includes, but is not limited to, Safety Shoes, Safety Glasses, Hearing Protection, Respirators/Masks, and/or Protective Gloves as required by site and/or customer site
