Position Summary:

Guide, organize, instruct, and train technicians in the performance of progressive tasks in fabrication, assembly, installation, maintenance, repair, modification, inspection, and the functional and operational checkout of dynamic systems and components

Primary Responsibilities:

  1. MRO Performance 40%
  • Perform fabrication, assembly, installation, repair, replacement, adjustment, and alignment of parts and components. Perform work from three dimensional blueprints, sketches, diagrams, technical manuals, work orders, inspection reports, and other similar documentation.
  • Troubleshoot identified problem areas and determines corrective action required.
  • Ensure that completed/assigned work complies with FAA regulations, customer requirements, and company specifications.
  • Complete forms and records pertaining to completion of assigned work.
  • Assign work to personnel on assigned team
  • Inspect incoming parts, assemblies and work performed, as required
  • Inspect and review paperwork from team repairs, as required
  1. Training & Guidance 35%
  • Perform more complex duties in support of the assigned work area. Coordinates assembly, installation and repair or replacement, suggests methods and/or techniques in the absence of complete manufacturing information.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to technicians all along the composite component repair process.
  • Train assigned technicians regarding techniques of work performance within assigned area.
  • Provide technical leadership to ensure that applicable procedures and standards are correctly applied.
  • Guide team members to ensure Turn-around-Times and Delivery dates are met.
  1. Repair Solutions 25%
  • Assesses items for repair or scrap
  • Prepares reports to status of reparable or scrapped parts
  • Suggests and Requests repair actions from appropriate design office through the use of Webtek or other programs.
  • Estimate work-hours required for repairs/inspections
  • Review and provide technical input on proposals
  • Propose additional repair solutions
  • Manage the relationships with AHI Engineering on all technical topics
  • Work with other technical teams to ensure cross-unit collaboration, as needed

Qualified Experience / Skills / Training:



  • High School Diploma or equivalent experience



  • Minimum of 10years of sheet metal experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in aviation (An A&P or a Train the Trainer Certificate can be substituted for 1 year).
  • Minimum 3 years' experience with resolving technical issues, including repair designs.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience working in a team in diverse / multiple stakeholder environments.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience inspecting parts and performing repairs
  • Minimum 3 years' experience training and fostering team members.


  • Recognized expert in Sheet metal repairs Licensure/Certifications:


  • Airframe & Power Plant (A&P) license

  • Management skills, ability to multi-task and handle high volume workloads.
  • Master Airbus or related maintenance documentation, ability to train team members and transfer knowledge.
  • Correctly understands customer expectations, enthusiastic to support others and achieve the highest level of customer service.

  • Must be able to read and interpret blueprints and specifications.

  • Vision: able to see and read computer screen and other electronic equipment with screens, able to read documents, reports and engineering drawings. Daily
  • Hearing: able to hear to participate in conversations in person and via teleconference or phone and to hear sounds on production floor including safety warnings or alarms. Daily
  • Speaking: able to speak in conversations and meetings, deliver information and participate in communications. Daily
  • Equipment Operation (personal computer, telephone, copies, fax machine, and related office equipment and using electronic identification card to enter building floors and internal doors): able to operate most office and personal electronic equipment and some tools including production tools such as hydraulic lifts. Daily
  • Carrying: able to carry documents, tools, drawings, electronic equipment up to 30lbs/14kgs. Several times a day
  • Lifting: able to lift documents, tools, drawings, electronic equipment up to 30lbs/14kgs.Several times a day
  • Pushing / Pulling: able to push and pull small office furniture and some equipment and tools. Several times a week
  • Sitting: able to sit for long periods of time in meetings, working on computer. Daily
  • Squatting / Kneeling: able to squat or kneel to retrieve or replace items stored on low shelving. Several times a week
  • Standing: able to stand for discussions in offices or on production floor. Daily
  • Travel: able to travel independently and at short notice. 10% of the time
  • Walking (include routine walking such as to a shared printer to retrieve documents): able to walk through office and production areas including uneven surfaces. Daily
  • Personal Protective Equipment required: Required PPE includes, but is not limited to, Safety Shoes, Safety Glasses, Hearing Protection, Respirators/Masks, and/or Protective Gloves as required by site and/or customer site
