Position Summary:

Perform work as Electrical installer in the build-up and fabrication of electrical harnesses and components for use on aircraft.

This assignment is expected to be through December 2021 and will be evaluated at that time.

Primary Responsibilities:

Electrical Installation: 80%

  • Following direction and working as part of a team and alone on different tasks.
  • Apply the basic techniques and procedures of electrical installation.
  • Read and follow detailed plans, diagrams and different standards in the fabrication of wire harnesses and electrical components.
  • Lay-in route wires on form board, tying, lacing and apply appropriate anti-chaff protection.
  • Install solder shields, splices, daisy chains and different electronic components such as resistors, capacitors and diodes etc...
  • Soldering of connectors, contacts and components.
  • Completing forms and records pertaining to completion of assigned work.
  • Instruct and mentor less experience technicians in tasks.
  • Troubleshoot and rework discrepancies and faults.
  • This description is not intended to be all inclusive and employee will be expected to perform other duties as assigned by management.

Installation and Lay-In: 10%

  • Lay-in harnesses and complete termination on A/C production line.
  • Install and Modify A/C wiring to accommodate Retro-fit systems modifications.

Administrative: 10%

  • Training on other than A/C related topics to comply with Government, FAA and Company requirements.
  • Cleaning and organizing work area.
  • Appropriate time keeping and charging of time to assigned work.

Additional Responsibilities:

Qualified Experience / Skills / Training:

Education:

  • HS diploma or equivalent

Preferred:

  • Aviation trade training

Experience:

  • Minimum of six (6) years related aviation electrical experience

Knowledge, Skills, Demonstrated Capabilities:

Required:

  • Basic computer skills
  • Read, interpret, and follow written technical data.
  • Familiarity with common aviation type tooling

Communication Skills (Spoken, Written, Influencing, Proficiency in Other Languages):

  • Must be able read, write, and speak English

Travel Required:

  • 5% Domestic and International

  • US Person under ITAR definition (U.S. Citizen, green card holder or person covered under our existing ITAR license)

  • Onsite: 95%
  • Vision: must be able to see full spectrum of color. Able to see and read computer screen and other electronic equipment with screens, able to read documents, reports and engineering drawings.
  • Hearing: able to hear to participate in conversations in person and via teleconference or phone and to hear sounds on production floor including safety warnings or alarms
  • Speaking: able to speak in conversations and meetings, deliver information and participate in communications.
  • Equipment Operation (personal computer, telephone, copies, fax machine, and related office equipment and using electronic identification card to enter building floors and internal doors): able to operate most office and personal electronic equipment and some tools including production tools such as hydraulic lifts.
  • Carrying: able to carry documents, tools, drawings, electronic equipment up to 30lbs/14kgs.
  • Lifting: able to lift documents, tools, drawings, electronic equipment up to 30lbs/14kgs.
  • Pushing / Pulling: able to push and pull small office furniture and some equipment and tools.
  • Sitting: able to sit for long periods of time in meetings, working on computer.
  • Squatting / Kneeling: able to squat or kneel to retrieve or replace items stored on low shelving.
  • Standing: able to stand for discussions in offices or on production floor.
  • Travel: able to travel independently and at short notice.
  • Walking (include routine walking such as to a shared printer to retrieve documents): able to walk through office and production areas including uneven surfaces.
  • Personal Protective Equipment required: Required PPE includes, but is not limited to, Safety Shoes, Safety Glasses, Hearing Protection, Respirators/Masks, and/or Protective Gloves as required by site and/or customer site
