Position Summary: Perform work as an Electrical installer in the build-up and fabrication of electrical harnesses and components for use on aircraft.


Primary Responsibilities:

  1. Electrical Installation: 80%
  • Following direction and working as part of a team and alone on different tasks.
  • Apply the basic techniques and procedures of electrical installation.
  • Read and follow detailed plans, diagrams, and different standards in the fabrication of wire harnesses and electrical components.
  • Lay-in route wires on form board, tying, lacing, and apply the appropriate anti-chaff protection.
  • Install solder shields, splices, daisy chains, and different electronic components such as resistors, capacitors, and diodes, etc...
  • Soldering of connectors, contacts, and components.
  • Completing forms and records pertaining to completion of assigned work.
  • Instruct and mentor less experienced technicians in tasks.
  • Troubleshoot and rework discrepancies and faults.
  • This description is not intended to be all-inclusive and employees will be expected to perform other duties as assigned by management.
  1. Aircraft Electrical Installation: 10%
  • Lay-in harnesses and complete termination on the aircraft production line.
  • Install and Modify A/C wiring to accommodate Retro-fit systems modifications.
  1. Administrative: 10%
  • Training on other than aircraft-related topics to comply with Government, FAA, and company requirements.
  • Cleaning and organizing work area.
  • Appropriate timekeeping and charging of time to assigned work.

Qualified Experience / Skills / Training:

Education:

Required:

  • HS diploma or equivalent

Preferred:

  • Aviation trade training

Experience:

  • Required: Minimum of 6 years related aviation electrical experience

Licensure/Certifications:

  • FCC

Knowledge, Skills, Demonstrated Capabilities:

Required:

  • Basic computer skills
  • Read, interpret, and follow written technical data.
  • Familiarity with common aviation type tooling

Communication Skills (Spoken, Written, Influencing, Proficiency in Other Languages):

  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English

Travel Required:

  • 5% Domestic and International

Citizenship:

  • US Person under ITAR definition (U.S. Citizen, green card holder, or person covered under our existing ITAR license)

  • This position has safety-sensitive decisions on a daily basis. It also requires decisions that affect the delivery and quality of aircraft.

Physical Requirements:

  • Onsite: 95%
  • Vision: must be able to see the full spectrum of color. Able to see and read computer screens and other electronic equipment with screens, able to read documents, reports, and engineering drawings.
  • Hearing: able to hear to participate in conversations in person and via teleconference or phone and to hear sounds on the production floor including safety warnings or alarms
  • Speaking: able to speak in conversations and meetings, deliver information and participate in communications.
  • Equipment Operation (personal computer, telephone, copier, fax machine, and related office equipment and using electronic identification card to enter building floors and internal doors): able to operate most office and personal electronic equipment and some tools including production tools such as hydraulic lifts.
  • Carrying: able to carry documents, tools, drawings, electronic equipment up to 30lbs/14kgs.
  • Lifting: able to lift documents, tools, drawings, electronic equipment up to 30lbs/14kgs.
  • Pushing / Pulling: able to push and pull small office furniture and some equipment and tools.
  • Sitting: able to sit for long periods of time in meetings, working on a computer.
  • Squatting / Kneeling: able to squat or kneel to retrieve or replace items stored on low shelving.
  • Standing: able to stand for discussions in offices or on the production floor.
  • Travel: able to travel independently and at short notice.
  • Walking (include routine walking such as to a shared printer to retrieve documents): able to walk through office and production areas including uneven surfaces.
