Position Summary:

Provide technical solutions to bring back the aircraft in their certified configuration and be proactive on the more complex troubleshooting where there is a potential and minor impact on the aircraft's airworthiness.

Primary Responsibilities:

1.Technical Representative: 50 %

  • Communicate with customers and take charge to answer them most quickly and appropriately on assigned products (Medium / Heavy Helicopters). Help our customers either troubleshoot problems; assist with information, documentation, repair requests, and technical requests.
  • Help Regional Field Reps providing on-site support to the customers employing recommendation, documentation, troubleshooting help, and direction for complex support topics.

2. Technical Specialist (Helicopter rotors and transmissions): 40%

  • Technical troubleshooting. Provide expert technical support to customers in a specific & complex technical domain, to maintain fleet availability with high standards of safety and reliability.
  • Define solutions (Repair, Technical Agreement, material and technical publication improvements to increase fleet reliability and reduce maintenance cost)
  • Realize technical expertise and Return of Experience (RETEX) analysis.
  • Support other AH centers like the AHNA MRO (OEM Depot Level) on complex technical issues
  • Identify and manage blocking points in coordination with the Tech support community (Experts)
  • Ensure AIRBUS processes are correctly followed (AHNA Handbook and all related processes)
  • Escalate risk items/incidents to the appropriate level and follow up on the action plan.

3. Continuous learning: 10%

  • AHNA Training, Sharing & Assessment program: This program allows the specialists to be continuously aware of all possible incidents in-service in their domains (all AH aircraft models) and how to manage them. The specialists are also in charge to share and perpetuate the return of experience to the AHNA teams. This program is also continuously assessed to ensure and maintain the knowledge of all specialists and allows them to evolve towards more future responsibilities.

Qualified Experience / Skills / Training:



  • Bachelor's degree Mechanical engineering or equivalent experience


  • Master's Degree in Engineering



  • 3 years of experience in continued airworthiness and modification processing, or taken part in a type certification or related compliance demonstration activities. (Dynamic components field is a plus)


  • 3 years of experience in Engineering (Design or stress analysis) taken part in the compliance demonstration of mechanical parts under high stress and fatigue load solicitations.


  • 3 additional years in the field of Aircraft Maintenance, take part in scheduled and unscheduled tasks to perform on aircraft in service (Technical Support or Maintenance centers) (Dynamic components field is a plus)

Communication Skills (Spoken, Written, Influencing, Proficiency in Other Languages):


  • Must be proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English.


  • French or German language is a plus.

Technical Systems Proficiency:

  • Must be proficient with complex mechanical skills and have a high level of knowledge on the product to be supported. Must be able to read and interpret design drawings, engineering documentation, and FAA/EASA Regulations for helicopters.

Travel Required:

  • 25% Domestic and International
  • Several days in France are required the first year (On Job Training, airworthiness mandatory training)


  • US Person under ITAR definition (U.S. Citizen, green card holder, or person covered under our existing ITAR license)

Decision Making, Complexity:

  • Will be required to make decisions for customers on best courses of action for troubleshooting, serviceability, safe operation of a helicopter. Must be able to prioritize customer requests in order of importance and complexity to keep work flowing and customer issues from becoming stagnant. Decisions on meeting attendance versus workload and deadlines for some tasks. Responsibilities will require knowledge of aircraft design drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams, inspection guides, engineering specifications, aircraft design standards, maintenance manuals, and other engineering and technical directives. May be required to travel to customer locations for investigations, OEM problems, or solving and supporting other customer requirements
