Position Summary:

The Project Manager is expected to make best-in-class efforts to establish, implement and monitor activities associated with aircraft, maintenance and repair in accordance with Airbus Helicopters' Commercial Program Management Procedure. The Project Manager will act as the primary project contact to establish key stakeholders requirements and project objectives, establish with project stakeholders the deliverables, task scope, budget plans, and schedule commitments in order to maximize the efficiency of project plan.  The Project Manager will interact with internal customers to ensure parts, materials, and resources are in place for a successful retrofit/inspection program. The Project Manager will also interact with external customers to support S&S sales team during offer negotiation, contract execution and communication of schedules. The Project Manager will identify, recommend and implement improvement and changes to improve the productivity.

Primary Responsibilities:

1. Key project management (30)%

  • Manage major retrofits programs involving multifunctional teams
  • Assures on target financial performance and alignment with group strategy when applicable.
  • Supports group strategies and efforts to identify/ analyze new prospective projects.
  • Manages the PMO team to include the identification of project initiatives, setting / managing project priorities, change control requests and the assignment of resources against the prioritized projects.
  • Leads the communication & needs analysis process with the business client to drive the business requirements process to ensure that maximum business value / impact is derived from each project and that each project is the most appropriate utilization of resources and has well defined quantifiable benefits
  • Ensures appropriate staffing levels are maintained and that all PMO team members receive appropriate training & development to successfully discharge their job responsibilities
  • Establishes a continuous improvement program to ensure continued utilization and maturation of best practice project management standards and methodologies
  • Recommends and directs action to analyze issues/risks; guides team to identify issues/risk solutions, and provides project team with resources/support

2. Customer support and financial performance management (30%)

  • Develop a business capture plan in collaboration with the S&S sales manager
  • Propose MRO offers aligned with financial performances target and the Group strategy
  • Define pricing policy and perform Price/Cost analysis
  • Propose and manage customer agreements/contracts
  • Create weekly communication routine for on-going contract for internal/external customers
  • Manage Customer Dissatisfaction Survey for aircraft MRO and provide RETEX for corrective actions and future improvements
  • Improve the cost performance of the operations areas and ensure that proper methods are being used to ensure responsible cost reporting and accountability at all levels

3. Forecasting / Workload balancing / Scheduling (20%)

  • Develop a reliable and financial OP for all AHNA MRO shops
  • Develop and maintain reliable AHI-MRO Productivity/Overtime metrics
  • Develop, lead and execute forecasting and demand planning across AHNA MRO organization
  • Set the metrics to measure forecasting and demand planning traceability and accuracy
  • Develop workload capacity analysis for all MROI shops to efficiently balance the workload between the teams and/or propose capacity adjustment
  • Develop and track schedules to ensure 100% on time completion
  • Keep project team, customer and leadership informed on changing project milestones

4. Performance management and data analysis (20%)

  • Performs data analysis and generates reports using specialized domain knowledge and developed business expertise and builds data sets based on business analytic indicators, such as KPIs
  • Helps develop and coordinate implementation of MRO processes across all MRO activities
  • Identifies problems that impact ability to deliver, ability to achieve margins, or are areas of inconsistency in the business, based on understanding of metrics and correct application of metrics to the data.
  • Interprets internal/external MRO challenges and recommends best practices to improve products, processes or services
  • Recommend and implement C3 (cost saving) actions

Qualified Experience / Skills / Training:



  • Bachelor's degree in an Engineering or Program Management discipline, or equivalent experience.


  • Master's degree is a plus.



  • Minimum of four (4) years of experience in aerospace project management including aircraft completions, maintenance and repair, or equivalent. 
  • Knowledgeable in FAA regulations.
  • Financial experience for budgeting purposes.
  • Technical experience to comprehend technical data packages.

  • An understanding of the aerospace industry, basic aircraft design, mission equipment packages (law enforcement, emergency medical services, utility etc.), and design and certification (FAA) processes.
