Position Summary: 

The intern provides support in managing the control of all financial aspects of the business for all the business units in Airbus Helicopters, North America. Support the coordination of financial planning inputs and prepare variance and financial risk analysis. Provide regular financial reports to support business decisions. The intern will follow proper financial accounting of the different activities. Assist Business Controlling team in all financial aspects and processes of the business. Provide analysis and support as required by the team. The intern will support the development of templates, volumes and written content, graphics, ensuring proper format for Airbus quality.

Primary Responsibilities:

1. Control Financial Aspects of the Business Units: 50%

  • Collaborate with Business Controlling team in supporting the preparation of regular financial reports on performance of the business. Obtain the necessary data required to explain the performance and monitor work in progress.
  • Complete, analyse and publish key business and financial indicators such as hourly rates, margin analysis, and business trends. Work with the Business Controllers to develop and keep up statistical data and analyses to understand the business cost drivers and use them to support the revenue and margin growth of the lines of business.
  • Assist with providing and communicating the relevant financial data to the business leaders to support the decision making process.  Support audits by fact-finding, data mining to provide the necessary information for the audit process according to accepted accounting principles and procedures.

2. Preparation of the Operating Plan, Forecasts, OPEX, Workload Capacity: 40%

  • Support the business team in the preparation of the yearly OPEX and follow on evolution on a regular basis, which includes collaborative meetings and reports.
  • Assist with the preparation of the Operating Plan in a detailed manner in coordination with business line management and the Business Controlling team.
  • Work with the Business Controlling team on the preparation of quarterly forecasts for the line of business to ensure accuracy and timely delivery.
  • Contribute Metric development and reporting for upper management.

3. Ad Hoc Requirements: 10%

  • Participate as required in meetings and reviews and other duties as assigned
  • Ensure appropriate data retention is maintained and accessibility is communicated
  • Prepare ad hoc reporting and financial performance analysis as requested.

Qualified Experience / Skills / Training: 

Education:

Required:

  • Working towards a Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance or Accounting from an accredited college/university or equivalent experience

Preferred:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting from an accredited college/university or equivalent experience

Experience:

Required:

  • Evidence of Completion of Project from planning, data research, and preparation with on time submittal within team environment.

Preferred:

  • Previous experience in finance or accounting

Licensure/Certifications:

Required:

  • Working towards a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance from an accredited college/university or equivalent experience

Preferred:

  • Bachelor's

Knowledge, Skills, Demonstrated Capabilities:

Required:

  • Must be a team player capable of managing multiple simultaneous tasks with potentially overlapping deadlines.

Communication Skills (Spoken, Written, Influencing, Proficiency in Other Languages):

  • Excellent U.S. English Written and Oral communication skills

Preferred:

  • Written and Oral proficiency in technical French, German and/or Spanish.

Technical Systems Proficiency:

Required:

  • Operator level proficiency in MS Office 2010/2016 applications, MS Project, Adobe Acrobat, SharePoint, MS Outlook.

  • Advanced level proficiency in MS Office 2010/2016 applications, MS Project, Adobe Acrobat, SharePoint, MS Outlook.

Physical Requirements:

  • Onsite: 100% onsite.
  • Vision: able to see and read computer screen and other electronic equipment with screens, able to read documents, reports and engineering drawings for several hours per day.
  • Hearing: able to hear to participate in conversations in person, during meetings and via teleconference or phone and to hear sounds on production floor including safety warnings or alarms regulary throughout each work day.
  • Speaking:  able to speak in conversations and meetings, deliver information and participate in communications daily.
  • Equipment Operation (personal computer, telephone, copies, fax machine, and related office equipment and using electronic identification card to enter building floors and internal doors): able to operate most office and personal electronic equipment daily.
  • Carrying: able to carry documents, tools, drawings, electronic equipment up to 30lbs/14kgs occasionally. Lifting:  able to lift documents, tools, drawings, electronic equipment up to 30lbs/14kgs occasionally
  • Pushing / Pulling:  able to push and pull small office furniture and some equipment and tools occasionally. Sitting:  able to sit for long periods of time in meetings, working on computer daily
  • Squatting / Kneeling:  able to squat or kneel to retrieve or replace items stored on low shelving as required.
  • Standing: able to stand for discussions in offices or on production floor, as required.
  • Travel:  able to travel independently and at short notice is not anticipated.
  • Walking (include routine walking such as to a shared printer to retrieve documents):  able to walk through office and production areas including uneven surfaces multiple times daily.
  • Personal Protective Equipment required:  Required PPE includes, but is not limited to, Safety Shoes, Safety Glasses, Hearing Protection, Respirators/Masks, and/or Protective Gloves as required by site and/or customer site.
