Position Summary:

The incumbent will: support Contract Logistics Support (CLS) execution and associated customer engagement at the Airbus facility located in Daleville, Alabama; manage the Airbus Helicopters Inc. (AHI) CLS operations and oversee CLS personnel assigned to Fort Rucker IN CONSULTATION WITH the Airbus Site Lead located in Daleville, AL;  assist with developing, coordinating and supporting CLS planning for Fort Rucker Operations; support and oversee CLS activities of the AHI workshare in support of the Lakota Training Helicopter Program at Fort Rucker;  represent the Lakota CLS team at Fort Rucker and interface with the AHI team in Grand Prairie TX and Columbus MS.  When required, support the AHI Director, Government Programs CLS with required actions at the US Army Program Management Office level. 

Primary Responsibilities:

1. CLS Operations Management: 55%

  • Maintain effective communication and coordinate directly with the AHI Director, Government Programs CLS; and AHI Fort Rucker Site Lead.
  • Support and assist the Lakota Program Manager and Director of CLS with managing customer expectations.  Be prepared to brief/update Program management Office and company leadership on program specifics and changes
  • Responsible for managing and coordinating AHI Lakota projects as it relates to all functional support areas in the execution of the Lakota Program at Fort Rucker.  This may include but not be limited to maintenance support, product improvement, and modifications
  • Define schedule and major milestones for AHI Ft Rucker's work share.
  • Work closely with AHI management personnel in TX and MS and Airbus Fort Rucker Site Lead to ensure adequate equipment, material, and personnel are available to complete required schedule and program execution commitments at Fort Rucker
  • Performs resolution and risk mitigation of local issues with Mississippi and Texas management personnel. Provide technical data in support of recovery plans
  • Support briefings, presentations and communicate to Airbus and Army Leadership on program status IN CONSULTATION WITH AHI Fort Rucker Site Lead
  • Manage and synchronize daily CLS operations at Ft. Rucker
  • Recommend, develop and facilitate the implementation of process improvement related to the future of the Lakota program at Ft. Rucker IN CONSULTATION WITH AHI Fort Rucker Site Lead
  • IN CONSULTATION WITH Airbus Fort Rucker Site Lead support communications between AHI and the Fort Rucker Senior Leadership to ensure AHI's purposes, principles, and projects are well represented
  • Provide oversight of AHI personnel located at Daleville, Alabama to enable execution of day-to-day requirements in conjunction with Lakota Technical Support Manager, Lakota Material Support Manager, and Lakota Program Logistics Manager.

2. Program Integration: 35%

  • Participate in all CLS IPTs, Ft. Rucker Meetings, as required, and other reviews in order to ensure that the Lakota team is working across functional silos to ensure customer support and overall CLS execution 
  • Devise and implement risk mitigation and trouble-shooting strategies with respect to specific deliverables. 
  • Make critical decisions under the delegation of the CLS Director, especially in regard to urgent and quick-turn topics 
  • Brief and negotiate outcomes with customer personnel as needed.
  • Develop and maintain effective network and working relationships with the extended Lakota team (other Airbus functions, customer, supplier).
  • Assist with planning, developing, coordinating, and participating in AHI and on-site Ft. Rucker events IN CONSULTATION WITH Fort Rucker Airbus Site lead.

3. Customer Engagement:  10%

  • Leverage network as appropriate to promote Lakota at Ft. Rucker meetings and engagements
  • Liaise with US Army program office counterparts as needed to execute contractual scope, including weekly customer IPTs and quarterly PMRs.

Qualified Experience / Skills / Training

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Management, Logistics/Supply chain, Business or related field.  5 years of related experience can be substituted for this degree. 

Experience:

Required:

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in a management/leadership role within Customer Service, Logistic Support, or related fields within the helicopter/aviation industry or equivalent similar
  • Able to collect, analyze, and communicate performance metrics. Demonstrated problem solver

Desired:

  • Familiar with UH-72A Lakota operations at Ft. Rucker
  • Familiar with BK117 C-2 platform

Knowledge, Skills, Demonstrated Capabilities:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office software.
  • Ability to travel on an infrequent basis (every two months) with a duration of typically not more than one week.

Communication Skills (Spoken, Written, Influencing, Proficiency in Other Languages):

  • Professional written, presentation, and verbal communication in English.

Technical Systems Proficiency:

  • PowerPoint
  • Word
  • Excel
  • General computing

Travel Required:

  • 10% Domestic and International

Citizenship:

  • US Person under ITAR definition (U.S. Citizen, green card holder, or person covered under our existing ITAR license)

Clearance:

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Government security clearance

Decision Making, Complexity:

  • Provide recommendations on AHI parts depth ($100M+), technical support, and parts ordering process to senior management

Organizational information:

  • Reports to Director, Government Programs CLS. 
  • This position will not have specific direct reports but will have indirect responsibility and oversight for all employees on Fort Rucker's base (9 non-exempt and 5 exempt).

  • Personal Protective Equipment required:  steel-toed shoes are required for all shop floor visits; appropriate hearing/eye protection may also be required when visiting the shop floor
