Position Summary: 

This position compiles, analyzes, and reports on the specific costs of the various business functions.  Maintains the master data necessary to provide management the appropriate level of costing information.

Primary Responsibilities:

1.  Maintain/Safeguard Master Data: 35%

  • Oversee or maintain the appropriate setup of Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) elements, orders, material, etc. as it pertains to financial reporting.
  • Monitors and adjusts inventory unit costing as necessary.

2.  Financial period closing: 25%

  • Process monthly, quarterly, and yearly period end closing procedures
  • Create, review, and post necessary accruals, journal entries, and processes as necessary
  • Review, maintain, and record the spares obsolescence model, the Customer Support Program (CSP)/Contractor Logistics Support (CLS) models, and over/under labor and burden absorption processes

3.  Reporting: 20%

  •  Generate accurate gross margin, inventory, work in process, and working capital reporting
  •  Performs necessary account reconciliations 

4.  Audit & Tax: 15%

  • Support of audits internal and external
  • Support preparation of tax filings as required

Additional Responsibilities:  

Other duties as assigned:  5%

  • Special analysis and reports as requested by management on as needed basis

Qualified Experience / Skills / Training:

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting required or equivalent in experience and education

Experience:

  • Requires minimum six years' experience within a cost accounting function. Education beyond the minimum requirement can be substituted for experience.  Requires knowledge of cost accounting principles, and strong analytical and mathematical ability.  Must have knowledge of SAP basic modules.
  • Job cost accounting is required
  • Knowledge of Business Planning & Consolidation (BPC)/Business Warehouse (BW) is preferred

Licensure/Certifications:

  • CMA/CPA and/or MBA preferred

Knowledge, Skills, Demonstrated Capabilities:

  • Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of management
  • Ability to act with minimum supervision
  • Manage multiple assignments and deadlines effectively
  • Must be professional with a high degree of integrity
  • Must be able to effectively transition between concept and implementation

Communication Skills (Spoken, Written, Influencing, Proficiency in Other Languages):

  • Effective communicator (verbal and written) able to convey clear and timely.

Technical Systems Proficiency:

  • Microsoft Office suite, SAP (FICO, PP, PS, CO, COPA, COPCA).
  • Preferred systems experience in BPC and BW.

  • Authorized to Work in the US

Decision Making, Complexity:

Responsible for the implementation of AHI's current cost accounting practices, procedures, and reporting. This is done with respect to the Group's direction and the needs of AHI.

Organizational information:

Reports to Sr. Manager Cost Accounting, Planning & Reporting

Job Dimensions, Contributions to Success:

This position has the direct responsibility for ensuring the accurate reporting of revenue and cost for the company. This information will be used in guiding the company

Nature of Contacts:

Involved communication on a  daily basis with internal parties only
